This Christmas i had the enormous luck to have some free time and good weather for a few days.Just enough to shoot some classics of the winter sky. So i pointed the mount towards Orion and started from the most impressive DSO's in my opinion of the entire sky. The Orion Nebula and Horsehead and flame. Then a quick "detour" for shooting the Praesepe open Cluster (in the Constellation of Cancer) which is best seen during winter and then a final slew to the Perseus constellation for visiting the fantastic California nebula.
The weather was not perfect so i didn't had the time to integrate as much as i would like to but...it gave me a nice "window" so i can take some nice souvenirs back at home from this winter's Sky.
So the integrations for each DSO are:
M44 12x300" (1h)
Orion Nebula 58x180" (2.8 h)
Horsehead 24x300" (2h)
California Nebula 24x600" (4.6 h)
For higher resolution versions you may visit my Astrobin or Flickr Galleries from the galleries section.
Clear Skies,
Mike
